Tool reference
This part is generated from the running product, so it lists exactly what the server offers. A tool is offered to an app only when the token the person gave it holds the tool’s scope.
| Scope | Tools | What a token with it is offered |
|---|---|---|
foldr.read | 16 | 16 tools |
files.write | 7 | 23 tools: the 16 read tools and 7 of its own |
fields.write | 1 | 17 tools: the 16 read tools and 1 of its own |
sharing | 4 | 20 tools: the 16 read tools and 4 of its own |
A token with every scope is offered 28 tools. No tool deletes, moves away or replaces a file, whatever scopes the app holds.
Results are cut at 64 KB, with a note saying so, so ask for less at once (a narrower search, a page number) when a result is cut.
Read tools
Section titled “Read tools”These tools only look. Every connected app gets them, and they are the only tools an app has unless an administrator has agreed it may make changes.

Field tools (fields.write)
Section titled “Field tools (fields.write)”Set the value of a custom field on one file. An app has this only if an administrator agreed fields.write for it and you agreed it when connecting.
Sharing tools (sharing)
Section titled “Sharing tools (sharing)”Ask for a file or folder to be shared. Every request waits for an approver, and no link is handed back to the app. An app has these only if an administrator agreed sharing for it and you agreed it when connecting.
